Disney held D23 2024, “The Ultimate Disney Fan Event,” in California this past weekend. The entertainment company announced many exciting upcoming prequels, park attractions, experiences, and more.
Expansions at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida
At Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, the largest add-on will be in Magic Kingdom, one of the
six parks. This expansion will include the Cars and villain section. These sections will have several attractions such as roller coasters, dining, shopping, and more.
Additionally, Animal Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort will be gaining three new sections based on Encanto and Indiana Jones. This section of Animal Kingdom will be called the Tropical Americas. Again, this addition will include roller coasters, dining, shopping, and more.
Lastly, at Walt Disney World Resort, a Monster’s Inc. land will be brought to Hollywood Studios. This expansion will include the first suspended roller coaster inside the Laugh Factory.
Information about when these new additions will be available to the public is unannounced at this time.
Expansions at Disneyland in Hollywood, California
At Disneyland in California, Marvel and Avatar are joining the park. Several new attractions will nearly double the size of some parks.

- “Tron: Ares” releases October 10th, 2025
- “Zootopia 2” releases November 26, 2025
- “Freakier Friday” releases 2025
- “Frozen 3” release 2027
Other Prequels:
- “Avatar: Fire and Ash” releases December 19, 2025
- “Toy Story 5” releases June 19th, 2026
- “Incredibles 3” is in production with no released date
- “The Mandalorian and Grogu” releases May 22nd, 2026
