Trojans Baseball Strong Going into the Home Stretch

The Trojans Baseball program made history this week by being the quickest team in school history to reach 20 wins after defeating East Hamilton 3-1 on April 5th. Soddy Daisy also racked up 2 more District wins, continuing their perfect season in district play.

In a talk with Head Coach Jim Higgins and Assistant Coach Dilon Clift, they said they aren’t satisfied with just these 20 wins. They want to beat the school record for most wins in the season, which stands at 30 and 7. They say they will continue to focus on putting pressure on their opponents from the beginning and take advantage of opportunities at every turn to get the win.

Headlined by great pitching performances from Carson Flint, Alexander Pinson, Cooper Poe, Sai Vickers, and Taylor Hughes. The group will have its work cut out for them over the last few games as district rival Signal Mountain comes to the Land of Troy in two weeks.  The pitching team has kept opponents to four or fewer points a game. Backed up by a strong defense on the field and good hitting from AJ Florio, Troy James, and Logan Williams, the Men of Troy continue to play strong.  The Trojans are on an off week this week, looking forward to playing Dalton on Wednesday before returning to district play the following week.

The Trojans take on Central at home on Monday as they get back to district play. They will then host the Trojan Classic starting April 18th. Out of the Classic is a two-game series with Signal Mountain, with the home stand on April 22. Then, it is on to Senior Night against Ooltewah on April 26th.
