This past weekend your Soddy Daisy Lady Trojan played in the CCS invitational. They went four and one on the weekend. Each game was 90 min finish the inning with an international tiebreaker if wanted. Their record is now Nine and Four for the 2025 season.
In game one they played Skyline beating them ten to zero in a total of 5 innings due to the run rule. A.Pinson and A. Fairies each had one hit, and L.Blaylock and A. Standefer had 2 hits each combining to a total of 6 hits for Soddy. A. Pinson
pitched five innings allowing zero runs, four strikeouts, and only one walk. According to the recap on Gamechanger “Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. Faires, Blaylock, and Skylar Gooden each stole multiple bases for the Soddy Daisy Varsity Lady Trojans. Soddy Daisy Varsity Lady Trojans ran wild on the base paths, tallying seven stolen bases for the game.” “Abby Pinson earned the win for Soddy Daisy Varsity Lady Trojans. The hurler surrendered one hit and zero runs over five innings”
In Game Two they Played Silverdale for the 3rd time this year. Going into the 3rd inning your lady Trojans were up by Three. In the fourth inning, Silverdale scored six runs. The final score was eight to four. The difference in the game was errors soddy had 5 and Silverdale had none. Soddy Daisy had six hits: S. Godden with two and L.Blaylock, A.Faires, I.Webb, M.Diehl, W.Woodward all with one. Izzy Webb pitched five total innings allowing five hits, zero walks, and 5 strikeouts.
In Game three they played North Jackson winning one to zero. They had a total of four hits and four walks. Izzy Webb pitched complete innings allowing one hit, one walk, and eight strikeouts. The Game Changer recaps explains “ Both teams were strong in the circle on Saturday, but Soddy Daisy Varsity Lady Trojans defeated North Jackson Varsity Chiefs 1-0. Izzy Webb started the game for Soddy Daisy Varsity Lady Trojans and recorded 21 outs.” as for offense “ Blue went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Webb, Abby Faires, Lilyana Blaylock, and Blue each collected one hit for Soddy Daisy Varsity Lady Trojans.”
In Game Four they played Fort Payne, winning five to two in seven innings. They had an okay defensive game with two errors and an amazing offensive game with eleven hits and two walks. A.Pinson pitched seven innings giving up 3 hits, walking zero, and striking out 7. Game changer states “ Soddy Daisy Varsity Lady Trojans piled up 11 hits in the game. Webb drove the middle of the lineup, leading Soddy Daisy Varsity Lady Trojans with three runs batted in. The third baseman went 2-for-4 on the day. Skylar Gooden collected three hits for Soddy Daisy Varsity Lady Trojans in four at-bats. Gooden stole three bases. Soddy Daisy Varsity Lady Trojans ran wild on the base paths, accumulating four stolen bases for the game. Soddy Daisy Varsity Lady Trojans were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Addy Standefer had the most chances in the field with nine.”
In the final game on Saturday, they played N Sand Mountain. They had a total of seven hits and nine walks allowing them to win twelve to eight. I. Webb pitched 3.2 innings giving up 2 hits, one walk, and six strikeouts. Then M. Moss came in for .1 innings and allowed 3 hits, two walks, and zero strikeouts. “Hughley led Soddy Daisy Varsity Lady Trojans with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Hughley, Sexton, Faires, Robertson, McDonald, Blaylock, and Ava Blue each collected one hit for Soddy Daisy Varsity Lady Trojans. Soddy Daisy Varsity Lady Trojans had patience at the plate, tallying nine walks for the game. Sexton and Skylar Gooden led the team with two bases on balls each. Gooden stole two bases. Soddy Daisy Varsity Lady Trojans stole four bases in the game.”

Skylar Gooden is a Senior at Soddy Daisy High School. She will be attending college at Georgia
State University on a softball scholarship. Her GPA had maintained over 3.5 in all four years of
high school. She is ranked 80th out of 234 in the class of 2025. She has worked a total of 23
service hours over her junior year through now. She is in the BETA Club and plans to join the NHS
this year. In her free time, you will catch her on a softball field, with her family, or out somewhere
with her friends. She is part of a big family, including her mom, dad, and four younger siblings. She
has played softball since age four and plans to continue on that path throughout college.
She enjoys watching football, cooking, and fun activities such as bowling.
